Are you stuck for ideas what to choose for your wedding colours?  My blog will take you through the wedding colour trends for spring and summer.

What has been stand-out popular this year has been dried flowers in those muted shades – creams, beige and browns.  Not my taste – I have a thing about beige! – and the other side of the coin is vibrant mixed colours with lots of lush greenery.  The more natural look.  Let’s face it, Nature in all her rambunctious glory doesn’t do neutral shades in isolation. Even in the desert!

The cottage core aesthetic has definitely gained popularity as couples are re-evaluating what is important to them.  So look for natural, rustic styles, outdoor and woodland settings – or ‘bringing the outside in’ where it’s an indoor reception.

So what about those wedding colour trends for spring and summer?

As in all things, it comes down to your taste, your own favourite colours, and what suits you!  Colours can influence our moods, much as music does, so when you’re choosing your wedding colours, it’s fun to look at the meanings behind the colours and see how – and why – they call to you!

Pastels are always a favourite for spring – think sweet peas and early roses!

Powder blue, soft pink, white – Delicate and fresh, together they signify hope and goodness, romance and love, underpinned by trust, strength and peace.

How about stronger, richer colours like orange, cornflower blue and butter yellow?

The colours combine to suggest energy, warmth, abundance, optimism and confidence.

My favourite has to be this bouquet which simply celebrates everything that is natural and free!

And of course, the colours are all of that!  Happy, cheerful, optimistic!  Wonderful.

I’d love to know what you decide for your wedding colours.  Comment below – and if you’d like to know the meanings of the colours, I’ll tell you!
